Well, nothing new on the choir thing.... I have kind of put that on hold.... My migraine started coming back, so I decided to be a new "proactive" me, and went in to see my family dr.
He put me on steroids, and gave me some percocets for pain for when I need it and I was a happy little camper to go on my merry little way.....
Now for those who are not familiar with steroids, they weaken your immune system, and they say to stay away from people who are sick, because you can get REALLY sick even if they are just a little sick.... Well, my youngest caught a cold. So, yup, you guessed it! I woke up 3 days ago with the sniffles and because I had been breathing in through my mouth all night, I found out that the tooth that I had a hole in it, that the nerve was REALLY exposed!!! I was in some SEVERE pain!!!!!
I went to the UofA emergency dental clinic on tuesday night, and they looked at it, and because of the steroids, they said that they could not touch me until I got ahold of the dr and got a proper dosing instruction for before and after the procedure to prevent my body from going into shock, and to prevent my steroid levels from crashing. Ok.... so they told me to get that taken care of the following day, and to come back in the following night... I fought with my dr all day on Wed, and on wed night, I went back in, and they did an x=ray, and still did not feel comfortable doing anything, so they said they would get me in during the day on Thurs or Fri when they are full staffed and can deal with any potential emergency situation.... I was a little ticked, but I took it in stride.... I called on Thurs morning as instructed, and they told me to come back on Thursday evening, and they would just pull the tooth... they got their instructions, and they were good to go... they said it was a simple extraction and everything looked good.
I sighed a big sigh, it would be the 3rd night in a row of not seeing my kids, but whatever... the tooth would be gone..... I went back, feeling even more like crud (the cold had moved into my chest as well) with the migraine still, and they couldn't get the stupid tooth out! It ended up being a surgical extraction, with some bone loss!
So now today, not only do I have a migraine, I have a sore and swollen mouth, a cold, my body aches, and I just feel like I am going to die.... I can't wait until I am back to having "just a migraine". I wish I could just stop having to take the painkillers... I hate painkillers.... I hate having to take a pill to take away pain... I would rather sleep, or do something else to get rid of the pain.... not to mention, percocets are addictive, and I am worried about getting addicted to them...... (I did stop taking the steroids tho... my immune system just can't handle being down and out right now)
*sigh* only me... I swear.... only me............
